Informationstag mit der kambodschanischen Wasserversorgungsvereinigung
To increase the technical knowledge of its members, the Cambodian Water Supply Association (CWA) hosts regular information-sharing workshops, and Echologics was a proud sponsor of a recent event.
The majority of the CWA members are private water supply companies with small supply networks made of plastic pipes with an average of 5000 connections and water losses of around 20%. The current method of leak detection is primarily based on visual inspection, which means that a large percentage of leaks are not detected because they do not appear on the surface and therefore cannot be detected. What is needed is technology that can help these private operators find invisible leaks and facilitate their efforts to reduce water losses to the government-set 15% benchmark.
The Echologics Workshop was hosted by CWA and Ham Ngoun, Director of Kampong Chamlong Water Supply Company. Brian Wright, Echologics Business Development Manager in Asia, introduced the concept of acoustic leak detection and how Echologics' innovative technology can be used to find invisible leaks and overcome traditional leak detection limitations in plastic networks. Attendees were given a hands-on introduction to Echologics' range of acoustic leak detection products, including the LeakListener ™ and award-winning LeakFinderST ™ correlator.
Echologics technology can help these private operators reduce leaks and increase the operational efficiency of their systems. In this way, you can work towards achieving the prescribed water desire of 15% or less. Echologics is proud to work with the CWA and its members to impart knowledge and help build capacity so that private water utilities in Cambodia can tackle water loss at the root. Echologics will continue to work with CWA to lay the groundwork for more advanced data-driven methods as local water networks expand.
